On Process: How prepared should I be?
Pinterest boards. Magazine clippings. Sketched plans. AI images.
Clients approach us with all different levels of preparation - everything from a blank sheet to multi-page, detailed briefing documents.
All this work is a start. It really does help us understand what you are after.
We just ask for an open mind.
What genuinely happens in the design process is that, following the Return Brief, ideas are proposed, tested, and interrogated. Some ideas are discarded early - others broken apart and reassembled. Some are developed and never shown. Eventually there will be strong solutions that emerge.
All this work enables us to present, with confidence and conviction, what we hold to be ideal solutions for the brief, budget and site. And we love giving our clients the chance to speak into their dream home through presenting different possibilities in scope and cost.
It’s exceedingly rare that the first answer is the right one. So if you bring something along, just know that it will contribute to the design process, but that things may evolve or change moving forward.
We hold our own initial ideas with open hands, and will do the same with yours.
