Residential Architects Brisbane
Ever Architects:
Thoughtful homes, designed around the way you live
Building or renovating a home is a significant investment. The right Architect does more than design a beautiful house. They help create a home that reflects the people who live there, and supports the way they want to live.
At Ever Architects, we design custom homes, renovations and additions for homeowners across Brisbane. Our work is thoughtful, personal and tailored to each client, site and budget.
For more than a decade, everyday clients like you have entrusted Ever Architects to create homes that are designed for more.
Whether you're renovating a Queenslander, extending a family home or planning a new build, we take the time to understand what matters most to you before design begins.
For you, we will create homes for living in, rather than status symbols. We will prioritise spaces that spark joy, and strive for what’s important to you.

Queenslander Renovations
Queenslanders are an important part of Brisbane's character. They also come with unique challenges.
We specialise in helping homeowners retain the qualities they love while adapting these homes for modern living. That might involve opening up living spaces, improving connections to the outdoors or creating better functionality for growing families.
Whether you are after internal changes, clever alterations, lift and build under or innovative extensions, Ever Architects is here to help. Over the past decade we’ve worked with Queenslander homes of different types and budgets, from early VJ cottages to modest post-war cottages and California bungalows, prominent three-storey hillside builds, and everything in between.
Our approach is always respectful of the home's character while looking carefully at how it can better support and empower the people who live there.

Sustainable design principles
The goal is simple: To create homes that not only look good, but also feel comfortable and enjoyable to live in throughout the year.

Who We Work With
We work best with people who want a home that feels personal, considered and quietly special. People who are not looking for something standard, but something that genuinely reflects the way they live.
That often means couples building a long-term family home, homeowners reworking a much-loved Queenslander, or empty nesters deciding how they want to live in the next chapter.
If that sounds like you, we would love to work with you.
Why Choose Ever Architects?
There are many residential architects in Brisbane. We are uniquely placed to help you.
We see architecture as a practice of caring for people. Relationships and process matter. Every project starts with us listening and building a shared vision with you, rather than a preconceived or predetermined design agenda, style or aesthetic.
We work with a redemptive mindset - taking what is, creatively bringing order, intentionally shaping an outcome that has tangible impact. It’s not about looking good for a moment. We want to design both for now, and what is to come.
Success to us is not just about a home or building that belongs in magazines - but that in the Process of how the building came to be, Outcome of building and place, and Impact in how architecture shapes lives, our work demonstrates real, tangible care for the people we work with, and design for.
Clients choose us because they believe we have their best interest at heart. We’d love to help you with your building journey too.

We’re not here to impress you — we’re here to support you. To walk with you. To listen well, work hard, and build something that genuinely matters.
We will start your project with a Detailed Briefing session involving multiple members of the team. Looking after you means getting to know your needs and desires deeply.
Over the course of your project, you will likely interact with the whole team. While the Architects have a direct responsibility in overseeing the projects, we are firm believers in shared exploration, collaborative creation and pushing each other constantly. We believe that each staff member has been gifted in unique ways, and we believe in rightful attribution of each other’s work. We know that the team environment drive better outcomes than if we were in our own silos working alone.
We aim to walk with kindness - this is not being soft, but this is how we hold space for complexity, creativity and long-term value. We’re not “nice” for the sake of it; our warmth is purposeful. It helps unlock complexity, deepen collaboration, and deliver outcomes that last.
So there’s no need for pretense, no secret wizardry, no agendas. Instead, the Ever team will welcome you into our world of considered, joyful collaboration. You will participate and have a say in how your project evolves as it takes shape. You will be understood, listened to, respected and honoured. We promise to walk with you — openly, thoughtfully, and with integrity — from start to finish.
Good process drives great outcomes, which in turn results in good impacts that ripple out. We look forward to walking with you to create something truly enduring and meaningful.

New builds and alterations - from interesting Granny Flats to luxury homes, apartment fitouts, Queenslanders and post-war cottages, and all kinds of masonry builds - renewing the humble butterbox, or reinterpreting the brick veneer homes typical of the 80’s and 90’s. We also design rooming accommodation and boutique multi-residential projects.
We don’t have a set “brand look” or language that we impose on our projects, but rather we build our work upon a unified design philosophy. This gives us freedom to approach each project with an open mind. What we pursue is authenticity - whatever we are called to do; whatever material palette we employ, we want to use those materials to its full potential.
-
We typically walk with our clients through the entire process - including interiors, colours and finishes, and fixture selections. At times we’ve also assisted with furniture selections.
-
Clients come to us with all different kinds of preparation - anything from a blank sheet and an open mind, to detailed briefs, sketched plans of all different kinds; and some even with AI generated images.
We will treat your plans as a starting point to understand what you’re looking for. From there, we ask for an open mind as we explore and uncover optimal solutions for your site and brief. Our design process involves a lot of ideation, internal critique, and challenging/pushing one another. It’s almost certain that things will evolve from any starting point.
We don’t apologise for being thorough (or even over-the-top) in the Concept Design stage. This is the time when an Architect’s skills can have maximum effect on bang-for-buck and a successful outcome.

Design is an investment in the life you want to live. Our fees reflect the care, expertise, and time each project deserves.
Each project is priced off a standard Schedule, but adjusted to your unique scope. We typically work on a percentage-of-cost basis, with clarity provided upfront through fixed fees for the Concept stage. Construction stage services are based on a monthly retainer.
As a general guide, for residential projects these approximate percentage rates will apply up to Builder’s Pricing (all numbers excluding GST):
Cost of Works $500k - 12%
Cost of Works $1.0m - 10.75%
Cost of Works $1.5m - 9.8%
Cost of Works $2.0m - 9.4%
Cost of Works $2.5m - 8.9%Most clients spend in the region of $12k-$20k for the initial Return Brief and Concept stages.
Monthly Retainer fees apply to Construction stage, and what we charge differs depending on how you contract with the Builder, and whether we are appointed to administer the ABIC contract suite.
We work closely with Builders or specialist Quantity Surveyors to obtain independent Opinions of Cost as we step through the project, to help ensure that your project delivers on value.
If you want a more thorough glimpse of how we calculate our Fees, click here to access our Residential Welcome Pack.
Commercial and Church projects are priced in a different way. It’s best to reach out to see what we can do for you.

We work with other Consultants to help deliver your project. As a minimum you can expect a Surveyor, Structural Engineer and Building Certifier to be on board. as well as either a qualified Quantity Surveyor or early Contractor involvement to assist with value managing your project. Some projects will also require a Town Planner, and in specific cases other specialist Consultants will be needed.
If you have any questions in this area, just reach out and we’d be happy to help.

There are definitely Builders that we have established successful working relationships with.
As we step through your project, we would love to introduce you to builders who are suited to your project.
-
We usually work for clients who are deeply attached and involved to their projects. By nature this means that decisions may take some time as things are carefully considered, and there’s a certain degree of to-and-fro as we step through. Our posture is to be professional but not rigid.
We expect most projects to take somewhere between 9-18 months in the design and planning stage - noting that this varies widely depending on scope, complexity and also the client themselves. It does help us if the project’s momentum is upheld along the way.
If you are working to a specific timeline, let us know and we’ll do our best to make it work!

For many homeowners, the answer is yes.
An architect can help uncover opportunities that may not be immediately obvious. Good design can improve functionality, maximise natural light, enhance liveability and help create a more cohesive outcome.
